my oldest brother is speaking weirdly about my mothers assistance as she gets older. 
hereci am with 10 years experience working with the elderly but he’s taken it on himself to decide what’s best for Mum

I have gas cooking and water heating @SmilingGecko . Can’t afford to convert that atm. Nor can I afford double glazing or wall insulation the battery and new panels cost enough already. Hot here and hotter tomorrow and next couple of days yuck I hate it.

oh over a year ago I looked into it talked to like 4 dift places

• one swore north was east re roof 
• they always put panels where least sun was on their graphics
• side of house w most sun has vent , chimney tv antenna so they were only putting 1-2 panels that side
• some even put panels on shaded side of house
• most were same price
• was a quote double the others and one way cheaper

in the end , made no sense for me as I dont use enough power. could be difft story w battery  but I pay very little ok not same rates as WA or ACT which is about half

but it didnt make sense for me at the time

I have the luxury of waiting for better tech if ever do it.

I use around 260kw/mth in summer and winter, and around 150 in spring and autumn and get like $500 /year subsidies and 17%discount on 38c/kw

I’m not eligible for any concessions @TAB . Sick of paying power companies especially in the Winter (I feel the cold). Goping I have made the right decision. Have long north facing area on my roof.

@GezzaP I dont envy you living in Adelaide with the heat. Melbourne isnt much better in terms of liveability with all the stuff that goes on here. I dunno. Well you got your solar panels. Keep track of your usage on your bill and you will be surprised!

my north northwest side has most of sun, followed by south south west. north northeast  is in the morning out the back

I har old panels before bills low or credit most of the year but not in Winter @SmilingGecko . Hoping to be in credit all the time now.

I paid to get a Smart Meter for2 reasons

• prep for solar
• try to use offpeakpower for half price if disciplined

..then they didnt change billing

rang a few times.they maintained not doing off peak was cheaper for me

I think kw are more than 10 I don’t know exactly I don’t understand all the tech stuff. Got an app with it let me check app see what battery is saying now @TAB .
